A new generation. A shared ambition.

Across Spain, young Roma are already organising, studying, building businesses, leading community initiatives and creating opportunities for others.

With the launch of Romanipe, Roma for Democracy is creating an opportunity for young Roma from across Spain to connect, exchange ideas and contribute to a shared vision for stronger Roma political participation and collective leadership.

Whether you are already leading an initiative or looking for your first opportunity to get involved, this is a space to contribute your ideas, learn from others and build connections that can turn individual ambition into collective action.

You do not need to belong to a political party or have previous political experience. What matters is your willingness to participate, contribute and build something together.

Two ways to take part in Romanipe

The initiative offers two opportunities for young Roma aged 18–35 living in Spain, recognising the different ways people contribute to their communities and public life.

For organisers: Young Roma who are already bringing people together, leading community initiatives or organising locally, and want to strengthen their networks and collective impact.

Both opportunities include participation in a two-day camp in Barcelona, with travel, accommodation and meals covered. Exact dates will be confirmed with selected participants.

Applications close on 1 November 2026.

From individual voices to collective influence

Roma have shaped Spain for six hundred years. Through entrepreneurship, culture, community leadership, civic action and political participation, generations have contributed to the country Spain is today.

That legacy is not simply something to celebrate. It is a foundation to build on.

Romanipe starts from a simple idea: when people connect their strengths, organise around shared priorities and act together, they increase their ability to shape decisions.

The ambition is to bring together the energy of a new generation with the experience, networks and achievements of those who came before.

We have the people. We have the ideas. Now we build what comes next.
