Selvije Mustafi Alkan
Selvije Mustafi Alkan is Recruitment and Training Specialist in RFD’s Strengthen pillar. Working with Program Director Akif Kariman, she contributes to identifying promising Roma public voices, organisers, and future officeholders and supports their progression through recruitment, training, and leadership development.
Before joining RFD, Selvije was a grassroots organiser with AVAJA in North Macedonia. She contributed to national election campaigns, coordinated local teams, organised protests, and supported public mobilisation, gaining direct knowledge of how emerging leaders are identified and sustained through field-based organising.
Selvije holds a degree in English Language and Literature from South East European University and is pursuing a master’s degree in Diplomacy. She participated in the Obama Foundation Leaders Europe programme in 2022 and the American Council of Young Political Leaders programme in 2024.
At RFD, Selvije contributes recruitment and training expertise to durable constituency capacity. She broadens leadership discovery, helps emerging leaders build practical skills and accountability, and supports progression into roles that organise voters, articulate shared priorities, and exercise public leadership.
