Dancho Yakimov
Dancho Yakimov is Research Specialist at Roma for Democracy and contributes to the research architecture of the Roma for Democracy Index. His work brings together multiple strands of evidence to build a comprehensive and comparable account of the democratic conditions affecting Roma across Europe.
Dancho’s work integrates indicators, country-level evidence, institutional data, political analysis, and findings from the Roma Trust Barometer into the Index’s knowledge base. Before joining RFD, he was Grants Manager at the Paul Hamlyn Foundation in London, overseeing support to 90 civil society organisations, and completed fellowships with the Council of Europe’s Roma and Travellers Team and Operation Black Vote London.
Dancho holds a degree in Public Policy from Central European University in Budapest.
At RFD, Dancho contributes to making the Index more than a collection of figures. His work makes evidence comparable, verifiable, and interpretable across countries, allowing democratic standards, institutional performance, and changes over time to be assessed through one coherent body of knowledge.
